Our History

Great Plains Assistance Dogs Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1989 by Ed Duden, Steve Powers, and Michael Goehring. Later the organization name would be changed to Service Dog for America, but the work continues at the same campus at which it began.

Located in Jud, North Dakota – 43 miles south of Jamestown, ND – Service Dogs for America is the only accredited nonprofit provider of service dogs in North Dakota.
